Full Swing

After hours and hours and hours of prepping and figure stuff out I'm officially in production. Yesterday I spent the ENTIRE day figure out some new techniques and getting them down pat. Last night I began building the sets and downloading the necessary downloads for the movie. This morning I finished most of the sets and started the long and tedious process of filming.

I feel a lot better about this project now that I've seen its potential because this isn't something I would normally do. I did a few test shots and began shooting the real shots and put them in the editor. They are turning out really nice. I wouldn't say this is the most green screening I've even done but it totally is the hardest I've ever attempted at. I've got to be careful to get everything right with the green screens because it'll look really funky. I'm rendering some test footage right now just to see it in the media player and then I'm going to watch it on another computer to see how it looks.

I'm glad I was wrong when I said it'll probably take me months to finish this movie because I can't wait months! I understand I have to be careful and focused while I work but this really isn't going to take months to complete. Maybe two weeks at most.

I'm going back to filming now....

Ooookkayy

Now Moirai is done I asked myself a question. What am I going to do now? Well, I've been throwing around some ideas and catching up with sims movies on the internet... Trying to figure out the latest mods and "technology" out there for sims machinima. When I was watching some videos from a wonderful and amazing creator/artist I saw that she did something that no body else does often if at all. I looked it up and have been working on perfecting this literally all day. It's past 7 and I'm still not satisfied with my results. This thing I'm working as well as a few other techniques will be very much included in my next project. I'll tell you one thing about it. It's a music video. It's like nothing I've ever done before and I can't wait to get started. A few things have to happen before I begin shooting though. I have to get more ideas and develop a solid plot, find a song that matches my ideas, become confident with these new techniques I'm working on, get the Freetime EP, and build sets. You won't be seeing this music video for a very very long time. I'm also getting an iMac to replace my Windows XP computer that is currently my filming computer. I start production on another XP I have which has more power and will give me more quality. Quality will be everything for this.

This is not to mention I'm starting school next week, and I'm starting my job too. I'll be really busy outside of filming. Whenever I get the chance to do that. So it'll be many months before It'll be ready for your viewing pleasure. Right now this music video is just a dream...

Moirai Part 4 Script

Moirai – 4

EXT. ACENIT AZTEC RUINS

LEADER:

On this day we come to

Persecute this man who has committed

treasury. How do you plea?

MOIRAI:

Guilty.

LEADER:

You shall be cursed for

1000 years. You shall be trapped inside the

Oak of a plant.

MOIRAI:

The oak of a plant?!

LEADER:

This is destiny.

This is the way it is supoose to be.

You cannot change destiny.

CUT TO:

INT. WHITE ROOM

FATE:

Do you love her Steven?

STEVEN:

I do.

Before we got married I always dreamed

Of us together somewhere like the forest or a beach

Just enjoying life. No worries, no problems. Just her and me.

FATE:

Sometimes fate and dreams collide.

The most important thing is that you love her.

That is something that will never change.

STEVEN:

Do you think I loved her before this?

FATE:

Of course you did Steven.

STEVEN:

I wish I could see her face again.

I miss her a lot.

FATE:

You have reached a wonderful stage in your life.

You understand how to care again.

STEVEN:

There’s no way I can get out unless

I watch the rest of those images huh?

FATE:

Yes, you must watch all the images.

STEVEN:

If I watch the rest will I be able to see her again?

FATE:

Steven. I… I

STEVEN:

Why didn’t you tell me?

You force me to watch her

and my son and I’ll never see them again?

FATE:

Here there are no second chances.

That is destiny. That is fate.

STEVEN:

Answer me one question fate.

Promise not to lie.

FATE:

I cannot lie Steven.

STEVEN:

I’m dead aren’t I?

FATE:

STEVEN:

How did this happen? How did I die?

FATE:

FATE:

STEVEN:

FATE:

FATE:

Of course Steven.

STEVEN:

STEVEN:

STEVEN TURNS AND WALKS THROUGH A DOOR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM. A WHITE FLASH BOOMS.

CUTS TO:

EXT. HOUSE – AFTERNOON

STEVEN STANDS IN THE SNOW OUT FRONT HIS HOUSE IN HIS CLOTHES JUST STARING. THE DOOR OPENS AND HIS WIFE STANDS OUTSIDE.

STEVEN:

It must’ve been love.

THE TWO WALK UP AND KISS EACHOTHER AS THE IT ZOOMS OUT AND FADES OUT.

CUT TO:

EXT. RUINS

LEADER:

You have committed the crime

against us again. Do you realize you must go

another 1000 years?

MOIRAI:

I know what I’ve done.

This is my destiny. This is my fate.

FADES OUT TO SHOW THE PLANETS AND THE GALAXY.

FATE:

Have you ever wondered why we act the way we do?

Why our desire for something tears us away from our love for

another. We loose focus on what matters most and it takes

something grand and unforgiving to make us open our eyes

and understand what we truly love.

The Secret is Out!

During filming of Moirai part 4 I took pictures of the sets and things that happened on set. If you know my work you know I love doing this kind of back stage stuff. Maybe it'll give you a few ideas for sets...

Moirai Part 4

Part 4 begins in the past somewhere deep in the jungle. It shows the leader of a tribe, his guards, and one man standing before them. As they talk you find out the man has committed treason against his tribe. The man who has committed treason is Fate. Fate is sentenced to be trapped inside of an oak plant for 1000 years. It then goes back to Steven and Fate. Fate says that Steven has to finish all the images of his past before he can move on. Something clicks in Stevens mind and he realizes that he's dead. Fate confirms his realization as he begins to go through the images one last time. It shows his family struggling without him. Both the wife and the son are depressed as they quietly try to live life as nothing happened.

Steven is trying to cope with it as well. He realizes that things must change as he turns off the TV which he watched almost constantly. He drove himself to the edge by trying to figure things out. After he finally cracks he kills himself. Later the police arrive at the house to tell the mother and the son the news. As it fades back to Steven sitting next to Fate he has finally realized what he has done. Steven accepts and acknowledges his mistake. Fate tells him that he cannot go back to his family because it is against the rules of fate and destiny. Steven knows he can't change fate and destiny and he must face up to his consequences. Steven asks Fate what his name is and he says his real name is Moirai. Steven says his goodbyes and tells Moirai that he loves his family.

Things fade out and a snowy sidewalk appears. Steven is outside standing in the snow. He looks around and sees his house in front of him. His wife opens the door smiling at Steven and they both run over to see each other. It goes back to the tribe with Moirai standing in front of his leader. His leader says he has committed the crime again and has to go another 1000 years as an oak plant. Moirai accepts this and says "this is my destiny, this is my fate."

THE EXPLANATION

Okay so in part 4 Steven realizes that he's dead and to move on to the next level he must watch his wrong doings. He watches his wrong doings and learns that it's something that he's done and he cannot change what he's done. Moirai seeing these changes in Steven has sympathy for him and sends him home a few days before he kills himself to be with his family that he loves. In the beginning of Part 4 you see Moirai being accused of committing treason. At the end of Part 4 you see he has committed the crime again. So, the crime that Moirai committed was helping Steven get home again and obviously this wasn't the first time Moirai has done this. Moirai learns that it is his duty to teach people how to love again so he doesn't care about fate or destiny anymore at the end of Part 4. He says he knows what he must do. He also says that is his fate and destiny. Which means its his ultimate duty to help save people from their mistakes.

From the beginning it has looked like this story was about Steven and his struggle to over come his pride and understand how to truly love again. Yes, that's a touching story but no. That wasn't the true story. Otherwise I would've named the series "Steven's Incredible Struggle" or something. The real story/back story was about Moirai. It was his journey to learn how to love again. If you watch it from the beginning of the story to the end you will see the character changes that Moirai has.

In Part 1 Moirai begins asking Steven many questions trying to clarify what is going on and why Steven was in that room with him. A little bit into Part 2 Moirai begins to realize what's really going on here and what he's suppose to do. By Part 3 his heart is softening for Steven and his problems. In Part 4 Moirai finally learns that he must focus more on loving and helping people then showing them what they did wrong and telling them they are pretty much screwed. Through the series Moirai is having a back and foreth battle over whether or not he should teach to help Steven or do what he's suppose to do with Steven so Moirai can get his body back again.

In Part 1 the beginning dialog pretty much sums up the entire theme for the story. It's a spoiler in some ways too. The dialog explains how humans must realize that it's not about fate or destiny and how it takes something grand and unforgiving to make them open their eyes and figure out what they truly love. For Steven the thing that was grand and unforgiving was Moirai. For Moirai it was his tribe and the leader that accused him of the crime.

I don't know if you've noticed but there are four characters and four episodes. Each character has their own episode pretty much. As the two main stories unfold in these four episodes it's also telling the story of each character individually. Part 1 was Steven's, Part 2 was Stevens son, Part 3 was Stevens wife, and Part 4 was Moirai.

If you search Moirai on google you'll get this... "THE MOIRAI (or Moirae) were the goddesses of fate who personified the inescapable destiny of man. They assinged to every person his or her fate or share in the scheme of things. Their name means 'Parts', 'Shares' or 'Alottted Portions'. Zeus as the god of the fate of mortals was their leader." So who was the tribes leader? Zeus? Who were the others around Zeus? They were people who had the same job as Moirai... Although they weren't goddesses in my story.


That should explain the entire miniseries. Now when you watch it again you'll see these character developments and story archs. It took a lot of research to make this series and it took a lot of thinking to write the confusing dialog and make sure I wasn't giving anything away too early. Thanks for watching the series!

Moirai – 3

INT. WHITE ROOM

SHOWS STEVEN SLEEPING IN A RANDOM BED.

FATE:

There are always lessons to be learned and

Knowledge to be gained.

The fabric of time and space

can be broken and changed but the

thread of life once cut cannot be mended.

Second chances for destiny and mercy can never change.

FADES TO:

INT. WHITE ROOM

SHOWS STEVEN WAKING UP.

FATE: (large echo)

Did you have any dreams?

STEVEN:

Just the wonderful dream of my baby boy.

When I get out of this I can’t wait to see his face again.

*FATE:

I’m glad you have high spirits Steven.

I must show you more.

STEVEN:

Why do I need to have high spirits?

Did something happen to my son?

FATE:

Steven your son is fine.

I cannot explain to you what the images show.

You must watch.

STEVEN:

Then show me. I’m ready.

THE SHOT FADES OUT SLOWLY WITH A BLUR AS FATES WORDS ECHO THROUGH HIS MIND.

FATE: (large echo)

Destiny is apart of us and you must understand

That it will never go away from us.

SHOTS ENTER OF STEVEN DRUNK AND ABUSING HIS FAMILY. HE DOESN’T CARE ABOUT HIS WIFE AND HE IGNORES HIS CHILD.

STEVEN:

Is this my wife?

She is more beautiful than I imagined.

STEVEN:

Wait. Go play with your kid!

Why am I always drinking?

STEVEN:

Another fight about something stupid.

That’s why I drunk.

STEVEN:

Ohh fate I’ve had enough.

Please stop!

FATE:

How do you feel?

STEVEN:

I can’t believe I never played with my son

I never cared for my wife. I was a drunk.

Please let me go back to them!

FATE:

You cannot go… You have not watched all the images.

STEVEN:

I’ve seen enough.

I was a fool.

FATE:

This is just the beginning of the pain Steven.

The consequences of your actions are not good.

STEVEN:

There’s more? Does it get worse fate?

FATE:

Yes Steven. It does get worse.

STEVEN:

Tell me what happens!

FATE:

I cannot tell you.

You must watch every last image.

STEVEN:

Show me.

I have nothing more to loose.

I guess destiny has brought me

here so I would realize how stupid I was.

FATE:

You were not stupid Steven.

You were just scared.

Fear comes from the unknown and you were scared of the future.

Do not fear the future Steven. Embrace it.

STEVEN:

INT. ROOM

STEVEN WAKES UP IN A BED AFTER THE FLASH BACKS OF HIS FAMILY.

FATE:

Hello Steven. How are you feeling?

STEVEN:

A lot better.

I still have a lot of questions for you though.

FATE:

All of which will be answered soon enough.

STEVEN:

I had a dream last night…

FATE:

A dream? What was it

About?

STEVEN:

I’m not sure. It was so dark and blurry… It just

left me with a sense of helplessness.

Like there was something happening that I couldn’t stop.

All I could do was watch and let go.

FATE:

Something that you cannot stop is like destiny.

STEVEN:

Yes, destiny.

*FATE:

Did it feel like good or evil?

STEVEN:

It was like a mixture between them both.

One side was good, the other was evil.

*FATE:

What do you think was the evil part?

STEVEN:

That’s what I don’t know.

I wish I could see what was in my dream.

I wish I could see what I felt.

*FATE:

You cannot see destiny.

Sometimes is comes at you from a far away place.

Destiny comes fast and hard. Some people cannot handle it.

STEVEN:

You said you controlled me.

Can’t you bring that dream back to me?

FATE:

I am the one that brought you here.

So yes I can but I will not Steven.

You don’t know yourself well enough to

STEVEN:

Why not? I can handle it! I can handle anything!

*FATE:

STEVEN:

STEVEN:

FATE:

STEVEN:

Hello? Anyone here? I’m sorry

I’m intruding but

I have no idea how

I got here in the first place.

FATE:

Hello Steven.

STEVEN:

Umm a talking plant?

FATE:

Steven are you aware of your situation?

STEVEN:

My situation? Not really.

All I know is I’m talking to a plant.

FATE:

You do not know where you are?

STEVEN:

Well, no… How do you know my name?

FATE:

And you do not know what you did yesterday?

Or even last week?

STEVEN:

No! I don’t know where I am, why I’m here, and

I didn’t even know my name until

you told me! To top it off I’m talking to a plant!

FATE:

Steven you shouldn’t be harsh with me

STEVEN:

I shouldn’t be harsh to an indoor bush?!

FATE:

If you do not calm down I’m

Going to have to do something rash.

STEVEN:

Then do something rash oh plant of mine!

CUTS TO:

THE FLOOR AND WALLS BREAK LOOSE AND THERE IS NOTHING BUT WHITE ALL AROUND THEM.

STEVEN:

I’m sorry.

FATE:

Steven in this moment in time and space

I control your actions. I control what you’re going to think

And what you are going to be doing.

If you try to squirm your way out

I will cut your life short faster than you will know.

STEVEN:

Why am I here?

FATE:

It's all done. Script, voice overs, filming, editing, and rendering. This means the whole miniseries is totally finished. I'm uploading part 4 as I type this. Now I'll be posting the entire scripts for all parts and pictures and a in depth explanation for part 4 as well the entire series as a whole. Thanks to all of you that reviewed it. You should be seeing a special thing in the credits. That's it! Now for the fun part...

Epiphany

I was watching Jay Leno last night and I realized something about Part 4. It came clear that I shouldn't put a release date on the making of part 4 because I don't want to rush it. Although it will be out in the next few days. I just don't want to have a set day it's going to come out because it might make me rush. So, that being said it could come out whenever I want and It won't come out today.

As for progress on Part 4 I completed the filming. I shot 63 shots today in one sitting. What is that? Like 97 or something shots just for these two days that I told you about. There are obvisouly over 100 shots for Part 4. That's pretty insane. I'm taking a break from editing maybe for the rest of the day today because I want to clear my mind of anything Moirai so when I go back tomorrow I can really do some intense editing.

As I'm going I taking pictures of the sets so I will show them here after the last episode is out. Probably in the explanation blog later. So, see you then.

Out from the Cave.

I pull myself away from the place I've been living all day today. my studio. I've been editing since 10 this morning for Moirai Part 4. I filmed yesterday for an hour and a half getting 32 shots. There are 3 sets. Well, 3 locations. 2 of the sets are on one lot. So there are 4 sets to be exact. When I go filming I shoot everything in one set for the entire episode then I move on to the next set, etc. I have finished the first set (the new one for part 4) and I will probably never go back to it again. Yesterday I finished everything on the second set except for a green screen part which I'm still working out some details. I only have the one more lot to visit (or the two more sets). The first set I won't tell you about because it's new and I don't want to give away stuff but the second set is the place where fate and steven are. You know, that little white room? The lot also holds the furnished room from part 1 and another duplicate of the furnished room which is set up for both the green screen and different angles. It was also used for part 1. So, yesterday I finished that lot and I'll probably go there one more time to shoot one shot... or two.

Tommorrow I'm planning on pretty much wrapping up filming. The last place I need to visit is the hardest and the longest place I'll be at. It's the lot that holds Steven's home and Steven's apartment. It also holds a green screen and a bar. The bar was used in part 3. Once I'm finished with that lot I'll go shoot the last shots and final touches and it's down to editing.

Today I edited in the first two lots. It's really long. I'm estimating it's going to end up being a ten minute episode. There is so much I want to show and I need to cover to finish out the story. I'm looking forward to explain in detail what was going on for all the episodes and why it ends the way it does. There is a theme between episodes that nobody will probably get until part 4 is over or until I explain it. Just watch the character development. That's all I'm going to say for now about that.

My goal date to release it is this Friday. I have all the voice overs complete and I'm almost half done with filming and editing. It can be done. I'll talk to you all Friday.
